LETTERS
Once again, the participants of the third edition of desert therapy
wanted to write a few words of good wishes to our new travelers. This
wonderful tradition continues to happen naturally. Striking phrases,
rich testimonies of sentiment and affection enrich those who write them
and also those who receive them.
Finally
in the desert, you tireless walkers have a moment of rest, drinking
hot tea; finally, in this essential place, simple, where nothing is
needed; finally, in this open-air museum; finally, in this colorful
kaleidoscope.
In this infinite place, strange things happen that you can't describe,
because everything that happens in the desert, stays in the desert
It enters into your soul, making you love without limits, helping you
to rediscover dormant emotions. Iinvisible but protective, it makes
you forget that there is another reality. Here, the mind is quiet.
Vitale, embracing, throbbing, sharpening your senses, the sunlight and
unobtrusive touch of the sand satisfies you, and then suddenly you realize
..and
from that moment you can not do without.
A warm embrace to all, I hope to meet you upon your return and welcome
you to the family of DESERT THERAPY

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Beige.
Beige and her parents were travelling for several days because they
had left Paris and were flying over Africa with their colorful hot-air
balloon.
Beige was very happy with this trip, but after many days of flying she
was becoming a little bored.
In fact, after a lunch break in Cairo, while they were going farther
south, Beige couldn't resist the temptation. She saw beneath her a magical
place the color of her name, full of mounds and white pinnacles with
shadows from black fossils making the white even more blinding. She
could not resist, and while her parents were napping she jumped down
into this enchanting place.
Her landing was comfortable because, as usual, she was wearing a balloon
dress, filled with lace and bows which worked as a parachute.
Soon, she landed in a place she could never have imagined
it was
more beautiful than anything she had ever seen and the ground was so
soft and warm it seemed like the puff in the powder jar of her mother.
Meanwhile, the hot-air balloon moved away, leaving a streak of light
smoke and the memory of bright colors faded into the amazingly blue
sky.
Beige had never been so happy. She was so sure to have found a magical
place, she was not afraid.
Around her was the void of silence and the company of nothing.
She felt her steps in the sand and every heartbeat was a new emotion.
She closed her eyes to savor the warmth and the air that crept softly
into her breath.
Shortly after she began walking in the direction of the sun, because
her orientation teacher had explained that after lunch you should follow
the sun directly because before and after you must do some calculations
with the shadows.
Luckily she had her little straw hat and sunglasses that she wore when
flying in the hot-air balloon.
The joy she felt with every step was stronger than any other emotion.
She was not in the least worried that her parents were very concerned
when they realized that she had vanished into thin air.
She thought of nothing but happy thoughts and began to sing.
Not far from her a little Fennec kept an eye on her, as it was impossible
not to capture all the commotion with his parabola ears. Beige obviously
had not noticed the little fellow traveler and obviously had not seen
even the great Scarab, a few steps in front of her, who was busy digging
a pit.
Beige at that moment was humming a song by the Bee Gees, with her nose
in the air, and almost squashed it. Fennec with one sudden jump in front
of her, saved his friend from a very unlikely death.
"Hi! You are so beautiful! What's your name? I am Beige" she
said.
'I am surely much more Beige than you, and anyways where are you from?'
thought Fennec.
Beige felt that with the beings of this magical place, perhaps her words
were not understood so she then drew her wonderful smile and let them
understand her with gestures.
Fennec pointed to the poor Scarab that was giving her a mean look, glistening
of sweat, and told her to be more careful. After that, he turned and
motioned for her to follow.
They walked side by side for several minutes, trying to stare at the
other without being noticed.
Beige noticed that Fennec was the only thing in this enchanted world
that seemed to come from nowhere. He had a small body, agile and light,
almost prehensile paws, and lively eyes that she had only seen in her
father on certain occasions when he had his special insights. Also,
he had a wonderfully tail soft and puffy wonderfully soft and puffy
tail, like the hair of her mother when she was at the hairdresser.
Only at that moment, Beige worried about her parents and Fennec seemed
to notice this dark thought that crossed the face of his new friend.
Luckily, they were almost there and , as if by magic, from a small hole
in the ground, appeared four other small fennecs just like Fennec, but
miniature.
Since they were educated, they sat side by side and saluted Beige shyly.
After which, they turned to Fennec and went, in turn, to kiss him nose
to nose. Beige thought that this must be their way of greeting and hastened
to throw herself on all fours and do nose to nose with the whole gang
too.
They spent the afternoon drawing in the sand.
About dinner time Fennec motioned to the little ones to stay with their
guest and he went away, hopping on his long legs as if they were springs.
When he returned after a short time, he was carrying a hard boiled egg.
Beige was surprised, but since this was a magical place she did not
think too much of it.
Fennec made four more laps and each time he came back with a little
taste of fabulous, cooked food; one for each of the little ones. On
the last lap, he took a meatball for himself.
When they were all settled, they briskly glanced at each other and then
began dinner.
How sweet
Fennec had put some berries in the middle of the group
and even here, each took their turn.
Beige tasted the juice of the berries, thought it was the most delicious
juice and concluded that she had had the most delicious dinner of her
young life.
In this place, everything is essential.
In this place, everything is simply joyful because it exists.
With these two thoughts, Beige slept curled up together with the small
fennecs while Fennec did a little tour of inspection before returning
to them.
The next morning at dawn, there was no more need to sleep.
The sun's energy was so evident she could no longer remain sluggish.
The little fennecs were stretching while Fennec was combing his whiskers
and freshening up his ears. Beige rubbed her eyes a bit and ran her
fingers over her teeth just to do something.
Immediately after she studied the shadows, and calculated the direction
for her journey south. Fennec decided to accompany her until she reached
the tracks and then stopped, almost waiting. He pointed his ears and
sniffed the air.
It was 8:30. It was almost time.
In fact, shortly after, seemingly from nowhere Beige saw her:; first,
her crown and cloth wrapped around her head, then the scepter with which
she marked the path decisively yet serene, then the small group of subjects
who occasionally accompanied her.
The Queen of the Desert!
Fennec as it appeared, had run away, not to be rude, but because that
was his nature and everything in this magical place has to follow its
nature.
Beige was now in the right hands, experienced hands that would lead
her in the discovery of this marvelous world and could help her understand
the richness, and at the same time, the simplicity of this place.
Without words because they were not needed, without questions because
they were not useful, without explanation because they are not essential.
Simply because all things in this magical place have their purpose.
"The Desert calls us to it, but only that which is of the Desert
remains in the Desert.
This child will end her trip together with her parents and then return
to Paris," the queen declared.
And so it was that the Queen of the Desert took Beige back to the tracks
where her parents were waiting.
Turning to salute her, Beige saw the Queen, under the intense light
of noon, was changing color.
It was not a reflection, it was her, that as a result of the magical
place, was blue.
The only woman who was truly blue.
Like the sky, like the sea and like this magical place that is her home.
In the background someone was singing .. toutouneia toutoutnaaa
